This morning as I'm shivering near the front windows, I noticed the trash was gone. I gather they found someone to take it all away in the middle of the night. The code enforcement officer called me back late yesterday afternoon. She had a long talk with the new renters, which leads me to the belief that, they know who these renters are, and may have a history with them. The landlord was out of state supposedly. I told her, 'Hey, it's all a matter of keeping the neighborhoods clean, and safe. We were gone out of town for the holidays too, and when we came back, we noticed the old renters packing up late at night. Then not even a few hours after they left the new renters are moving in. No physical inspection from the landlord? Well obviously no one was expecting a refund of deposit. The officer had even told me that trash service was suspended for non payment from the old renters. Gee, that's not good. The trash on the curb was probably both food, and discarded dump material, toys, large-ish household items. I'm sure that there was trash from both renters, and it was all blamed on the prior renters. Nothing for it, but to keep an eye on the house. It's not a coyote house thank goodness, but still, no need for any possible illegal activities to occur there.
Goof made a comment about how Babymama wishes they were neighbors like us. We maybe bordering on acting like asshole homeowners, but at least we maintain our property. Hmm perhaps we are like the previous owners, all concerned about their property's appearance, and lack of patience with ill mannered children. Owning a home is a big responsibility. It's an investment. Interesting that Enabler doesn't see it that way. Her home exterior looks pretty run down.
