a new project

Last night we wandered into Kmart. Goof needed a new drill, the last one was damaged in the move. While wandering around this store that I have never set foot in, we found a nice surprise. Sewing machines on clearance. I had mentioned last winter I wanted a sewing machine. It seemed like a fun thing to have. For $60 I got a fairly nice one I think. So I pulled out the material I had cut out last winter. I don't know how to sew.

This led to a realization, I need to learn how to sew from a pattern. I ordered two books from Amazon, and I went to JoAnn's fabric store today. I picked out some lovely patterns and some material. Now I wait for my books, until then, I am going to try and figure out how this machine works, and whether or not I will sew my fingers together.

I am hoping that I will be able to figure this machine out, and what to do with patterns. I am hoping that I can figure it out enough to make myself two tops. I found a lovely pattern and picked up some lovely knit fabric to play with. If it works, I will have made two tops for less than what it would cost at a store.
