Postman's child is picking me up at 4:30 for the show. I'm excited. Like I said,it's been a while since I've gone to one, and it will be fun to see my cousins too. I hope the ear plugs I use for travel work. Maybe to be on the safe side I'll stop at Long's and get a pair. Gotta eat a good sized meal before the concert too.
I think my plan tomorrow is to visit my old work chums, and then bring Stinky over to his old school and see the teachers. I hope I can get a hold of of Fruitart. She lives close by. I still need to get a hold of another high school friend. I should call her and see if we can meet up at the Englander.
A few more days and it's time to go. Funny thing, I felt bad for taking my mom's car and going places with it. I guess I really should feel that way, since Egg does it all the time.
Dad has been cursed. He got into an accident yesterday. Now his BMW is jacked up. No injuries, but it's gotta go in the shop. It's not gonna be cheap. His fault, he doesn't have full coverage on any of his vehicles.

Always something here
So it's been rather relaxing here at the parental homestead. Until yesterday. Dad was driving 880 near Davis St and somehow my car caught on fire. This was on Saturday. We really didn't know what was going on. We found out yesterday that there was a hole in the engine. There was no oil in the car. Now I had mentioned to my mom on the phone and in person that my car ate oil. It doesn't leak it, but somehow it loses oil. Dad was informed also, but oh well. Just in January Youngest Uncle and Postman's child had gone together and paid for a major tune up, alignment and tires. All of this totaled over $1K. Youngest uncle and Postman's child haven't driven the car for months as Dad had been using it. Somehow it didn't dawn on him or whatever not to check the oil. My poor car is toast now. We can only hope to donate it quickly. Mom took the tires, including my brand new Aquatred spare, and the cheapo hubcaps, and put her old tires on the car. Goodbye to a reliable vehicle. It was a great car, that worked it's butt off for me.
Goof went down to central GA last night. He left around noon today. He was caught in a really hard thunderstorm. Said he was driving 15 mph, the rain was so hard you couldn't hear the thunder. He saw a power pole hit by lightning, and the generator nearby exploded. He thinks he might not have closed the sunroof completely as the water was leaking into the car too. My poor car, at least it kept him safe. Alas the rain was south of us. We need that rain, but water does not travel north. Goof says the water police have been on the lookout for violators. He admits that he hasn't been watering since we left. I know I'm gonna have to be the waterer since we can water after midnight. There is no way you can ask that of him. I wish we had automatic sprinklers.
I'm invited by youngest uncle to go to the Police concert on Wednesday. That should be fun. They had a few extra tickets and since I'm here, why not. It should be fun. I haven't been to a concert in a few years. Last one was for New Order with Goof.
The vacation is almost over. We went to Chinatown yesterday and picked up herbs and tea. I had to borrow a suitcase from mom for all the stuff we have. Stinky's suitcase is now filled with herbs for his favorite soups. I also have a big stinky salted fish in there. Oh boy that should be interesting when we fly home. What will the TSA think of that? Stinky also wants to take his robosapien home. That will have to be carry on. I don't trust the TSA. Shame of things.
Oh there was a clip on Youtube that had me laughing.
Watch carefully. Within the first minute of the clip, all that glad handing that Bush is doing will back fire on him. Someone steals his watch. Albanian Ebay will have that watch up soon! Oh bummer never mind,it was just confirmed that one of Bush's security people have his watch. Whether it's a lie and they just have spares is another story. I still think someone stole it, and they just lied. Damn those gypsies! lol

1 more week
Oh man, I miss Goof. 3 weeks apart is hard. Well, yes and no. Granted I am having an easy time with mom and dad. Stinky is having fun with the grandparents too, but I do miss the familiarity of home, and routines.
We spent a week on a bus tour to Yellowstone. It was fun, but not. A full seven days on a bus with perfect strangers. At the end of the 4th day I was getting really punchy. This was a harder trip because so much time was spent on the bus. Thank goodness for mp3 players, and PSPs.
Stinky took lots of pictures and so did I. I moved them all over to the lappy, and uploaded them on photobucket too. Now the hard part organizing the photos into albums. Some of the photos are from mom's vacations too, but that's alright. Some great shots that should be shared.
I miss the dogs too. Lucy curled up on my lap, Mingy laying next to me, or sitting on my right. The power paw of joy, granted I don't miss the paw on the face or neck. Lucy's demands for food, or counter surfing.
This last week, will be more of a comfortable pace. No trips, just relaxation and perhaps more visiting. I still need to contact a few friends from work. I should contact another friend on the other side of the bay.

visiting the folks
So here I am back in my mom's house for 3 weeks! I get to eat fresh fruit at a reasonable price for the trip! It's a busy vacation for us. We got in at 1am on Sat, and boy was I tired. We went up to Sac later that day too, and spent the night out there. Flowers on the graves and such. We had a nice lunch later and reminisced about grandma and youngest aunt. The family in general is mad at youngest aunt's husband. Dumb user is his name. He says he doesn't know how to do a lot of things. Oh and he has no money. Yes, we can see that. He doesn't bring much money into the house. It's obvious who the bread winner was. The girls are trying especially Mimi, she's taken on her mother's role. Crissy is trying to help out as much as she can. but the main problem is the baby of the bunch, Prissy. She's a lot like her dad, selfish. They had to take away her cell phone because she used it so much. Also she was flunking PE! How do you flunk PE? Even if you hate it, you don't fail it. Just showing up and dressing ought to get you atleast a D.
But anyways, we got to spend time with J and A. I finally got to see their house in the City. Very nice. Still outrageous the inflated housing market. It was a fun dinner with them. Also Eldest aunt and I got along, I didn't rub her wrong and she didn't get mad at me. That was all good.
Today was a day to relax, we had dimsum with dad, ran a few errands, and just laughed about photos and funny moments about youngest aunt and grandma. Stinky got to go to his favorite junk shop in Chinatown. He got a large amount of useless stuff. Poppers, and stink bombs being his favorites.
Tomorrow, I'm going to the county office and pick up a copy of my birth certificate. It seems I lost mine. Also I need it for my license. Oh well. The following day is a day of patience. I drive Stinky to MIL. I have an out too if she gets on my nerves. I just don't have it in me to deal with her and her lack of effort to change. I used to listen to her and think that she was willing to change and wanted to. I just couldn't take it anymore. Comes in waves, and lasts for maybe a year or two, then goes away. Now is not the time for me to endure her nuttiness. I will learn to hold my tongue when it comes to her around Goof.
Most likely Friday will be a day of preparations for the trip we are taking to Yellowstone. I am planning on also taking Stinky over to his old school to visit his teachers again. He should get a kick out of that. I know he wants to play with some of his old friends, but he hasn't learned to let things move on. These kids may or may not miss him, but they have gone on and so has he. When he feels that the world is being mean to him, he latches on to anything that might have been good, and makes it more fantastic in his mind. Playing with friends from the old neighborhood was seldom. He plays it up in his mind as so much more.
